Guest Access

Before you even read on, we highly recommend reading our book “Mysteries of the Magnolia Hotel” by Erin O Wallace. We can almost guarantee you that after reading the last page, you will be dying to stay overnight….no pun intended :-)! On the day of your arrival, a secret code will be sent to you to unlock the exterior door leading to the suite’s stairway. This secluded doorway is located at 207 S. Crockett St., not the front porch on Donegan St. Once you open the door, the antique 1850’s stairs emerge before you, beckoning for you to ascend. The faded pictures lining the wall on your left hold the gaze of the hotel’s previous owners, from the spirit of Texas Ranger James Campbell, slain by Comanches in 1840, to the presence of the Ghedi family, the current owners. To your right, the images of the hotel’s former glory beckon you further, revealing a grand balcony that once overlooked the street below. Halfway up the stairs, the entrance to the original 1847 Magnolia Hotel lies below in solid limecrete, a haunting reminder of the building’s frontier past. At the top of the stairs, another door awaits, inviting you into your suite.

The Rooms

The first room, known as JJ’s Room, is a living space giving you the feel of the mid-1800’s. The bedroom, named Amelia’s Room, holds a queen-sized bed that may not be as empty as it seems. In the king-sized bedroom, the Faust Room, his presence lingers surrounded by the artifacts once used by him.

The non-cooking kitchen and full-size modern bathroom offers a sense of comfort from the building’s spirits.

If you dare, you may enter the other side of the hotel’s second floor, known as the most haunted. This is our hauntingly staged unrestored side giving you a feel of being time warped. You will then have access to all twelve rooms to explore. With the help of our framed information you will be introduced to our permanent tenants, such as Willie, Pink Rosebud, Itzy, Sam and even the murderer.

For a pleasant break, venture outside to the city’s Historic Downtown Central Park, which is just steps away. The park has a tranquil fountain, historical marks, monuments, gazebo, and gorgeous oak trees.

While our spirits are notorious for making their presence known during overnight stays, we offer no guarantees. These spirits move as they please, choosing whether or not to reveal themselves to those who dare to walk the eerie halls of The Haunted Magnolia Hotel.
