Some of our amazing 5 star reviews!!

I booked this stay for my daughter's birthday experience. This hotel is not only beautiful, but historic. You will never find a place like this to stay. Being able to see the amazing renovations was amazing. But the best part is being able to see the unrenovated side and explore by yourself. My daughter will always remember this stay along with the ghost hunting. Thank you Jim and Erin for taking on this project and allowing families like mine to share in this amazing and active place.~Elisha

Our overnight stay exceeded our expectations. Self tour as often as we wish. Posted descriptions was wonderful to read in the rooms we visited. Our amateur ghost exploration was so much fun, exciting, and amazing. We also enjoyed the tour of the museum given by Erin and Jim. Very informative and friendly experience.~Sylvia

Have You Ever Wanted to Stay in a historic Texas Landmark inhabited by ghosts? Then Here's Your Chance!!!

The Magnolia Hotel was built in 1850 as a ten-room frontier hotel, stagecoach stop, saloon with a massive restaurant. The basement was once the first original jail in Seguin and also a safe shelter during Comanche attacks. Many dignitaries visited the Magnolia Hotel such as, Governor John Ireland, Cattleman Michael Erskine, Judge Jeremiah Calvert, Texas Ranger John "Jack" Coffee Hays, Texas Ranger William "Big Foot" Wallace, Colonel Thomas D Johnston, General Robert E Lee, Sam Houston, Madame Pink Rosebud, Dr. William Read, and even the innocent man murdered by mob rule, William Faust. It is also home to the notorious murderer, music teacher Mr. Deavors (who never leaves his room). Legend has it President Ulysses Grant stayed during the Reconstruction Era while inspecting the camps and Bonnie and Clyde on their way to secretly visit family nearby. Our spirits are pleasant, kind and willing to communicate not evil. If you seek wicked, horror, demonic ghost who attack and harm, this is NOT the place for you. It is a magical building to explore the history of this amazing location and possibly interact with our permanent residents.

We highly recommend reading Mysteries of the Magnolia Hotel written by the hotel's owner. She is a four time published paranormal author. Before taking the tour or staying overnight this book gives you a detailed account of the spirits who reside at the hotel and lots of history!

Really fun experience for my son and I. The restored part of the hotel was lovely and the antique furnishings and decor were a nice touch. Getting to explore the unrestored portion of the hotel in the middle of the night was so fun. We rented their ghost hunting equipment and it made it much easier to try to get some evidence of something paranormal. They had a collection of scary movies for us to view before night fell which added to the overall experience. After my friend and I were too tired to keep exploring, our sons made great use of all the provided games they provide. It was a one of kind experience that my son and I will always remember.~Angela

"Haunted Seguin"

Founded and built by the brave Texas Rangers who fought for the state's independence, Seguin is a picturesque town with a chilling history. The defensive wall around the city is said to also keep souls from leaving. Locals whisper tales of a headless soldier roaming the streets at night, searching for his remains. The town square, now a hub of activity and commerce, once hosted public hangings and beatings. Lake McQueeny is known for its beauty, but a lost spirit wails along the shores to warn would-be drowning victims. Discover these and other stories from the shadows of Seguin's past with author Erin O. Wallace.

Magnolia Hotel's Private Gift Shop

This beautiful hotel is one of my favorite places to stay. I come here for the history and to interact with the spirits, and the Magnolia never disappoints. I always leave with a new experience and a feeling that I've learned a little bit more about the past inhabitants who have chosen to stay. If you've ever wanted to try ghost hunting or have wanted to stay at a haunted location, but you're just not sure you can go through with it, this is the place to go for it! You'll not only get to stay in a fabulous hotel and learn a lot about its history, but the resident spirits are very welcoming and love to interact in a friendly and non-threatening way (when they choose to). Erin and Jim have put their heart and soul into restoring the hotel and creating something special and unique for people to enjoy, and you can definitely feel their love for the building as soon as you walk through the door to the suite.~Kim

Jim and Erin were kind and helpful, the Magnolia Hotel is an absolute gem and SO unique. I wish I had booked more nights, we came home with so many stories to tell and it was genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Cannot recommend it enough, it feels authentic and homey, and the unrestored section is so active and eerie, they did a phenomenal job with the restoration and preservation of the building.~Etienne

"Haunted New Braunfels"

Visitors claim to hear the clinking of tinsmith tools and the ring of an unattended antique cash register at all hours at Kickin' K, which formerly housed Henne's Hardware and tinsmith shop. In Landa Park, passersby have reported hearing phantom footsteps follow behind them in the evening. Strange and spooky stories like these abound in New Braunfels. From the city's rough-and-tumble beginnings to its vibrant present, haunted tales can be found all over town. Author Erin O. Wallace delves into the ghost stories and histories of New Braunfels and tries to find the source of the paranormal phenomena.

Our stay at the Magnolia Hotel was amazing. It was almost like stepping back in time. The history surrounding the hotel was so interesting. If you are interested in the "haunted" aspect of it (which we were!) I highly recommend Erins' book! Oh and for the record, there are things that go "bump" in the night at this place! It was awesome! Go and see it for yourself don't just take our word for it!~Melissa

Oh my gosh! The Haunted Magnolia Hotel has got to be the best place we have ever stayed! We started with a tour which was given by Shauna. She told us about the history of the hotel and about each of the spirits! I highly recommend taking the tour with her! Once we were in our room, let the fun begin! We rented the ghost hunting kit and my daughter had so much fun talking to the spirits. Erin and Jim have the hotel decorated so beautifully. It was definitely like stepping back in time. My daughter and I can't wait to stay again!~Brenda, Houston

The hotel tour does go up a flight of stairs so please be aware of this. No children under 10 are allowed to participate (we speak of very spooky stuff). All children MUST be accompanied by an adult throughout the entire tour, so no drop offs. Although there is no videoing or audio recording allowed we encourage still pictures. Leave your purses and backpacks at home, it's a two hour tour and they get heavy. No food or alcoholic beverages, and no smoking allowed. We do recommend bringing bottle water. No noise making paranormal equipment allowed but YES bring those K2 meters along. Please mute your phone before entering, there's nothing worse that having a spirit come forward then someone's phone rings. Tickets may though be transferred for the date purchased to another guest upon advance notification to the owners. Tours go on rain or shine. Save your alcohol drinking for after the tour please. Costumed people do not jump out at you on our tour. This is a history and paranormal experience not a Halloween spook show. Our spirits have been known to come forward sometimes to greet our guests, so keep this in mind.
